California Gun Rights Foundation Condemns Governor Newsom’s Signing of Four Unconstitutional Gun Control Bills

SACRAMENTO, CA — The California Gun Rights Foundation (CGF) today issued the following statement condemning Governor Gavin Newsom’s signing of four new gun control laws that collectively impose new and unconstitutional restrictions on peaceable Californians:

These laws do nothing to protect the public. They do, however, criminalize ordinary conduct, restrict constitutionally protected tools and speech, and further punish otherwise peaceable people for exercising their rights.

California continues to legislate as though the Constitution does not exist. We intend to remind them otherwise.

For many years, the California Gun Rights Foundation has advanced the rights of Californians through strategic litigation, education, and public advocacy.

CGF has successfully litigated landmark California Second Amendment cases and remains committed to holding the State accountable when it violates the rights of the people.

Every Californian deserves the full protection of the Constitution. We will continue to use every available tool to restore that promise.

The newly signed laws include:

SB 704 -Gun Barrel Registration
AB 1127 -Glock Ban
AB 1263 -“Ghost Gun” Code Ban
AB 1078 -3-in-30 Rationing
